Lincoln County Bios: Jo Ann: Jo Ann grew up as Jo Ann Martone in Worcester and began playing drums in drum corps at age 10. She played in various rock bands while she was growing up and later began teaching drum corps and giving private lessons. She joined Lincoln County in 1981 and is one of the founding members. She currently works at Robinson Music in Westborough teaching drums and percussion. · Her favorite country artist is George Strait Randy: Randy grew up as Charles Randall Scaletta in Chicago and began playing guitar in college where he became a member of the "Jug Band". After graduation, he traveled around the country playing in various Rock, Blues, Folk and Jazz bands. He began teaching guitar in 1976 and continues to do so today. He came to New England in 1978 and joined Lincoln County in 1981... also a founding member. · He holds a BA in Economics and an MBA from Clark University Mike: Mike grew up as Allan Michael Pipes in Hobbs, New Mexico. He began playing guitar in his teens. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy where he learned to play bass guitar. After the service, he came to Worcester where he earned a BSEd from The State College at Worcester. He formed The ACO-5 while in college and played country music around the Worcester area. In 1980 he started The Lincoln County band , found Jo Ann and Randy and started looking for Scott. · His favorite country artist is Merle Haggard (of course) and The Gatlin Brothers. Scott (The New Guy): Scott grew up as Scott King Marshall in New York City. His first paid gig was a High School dance in Brooklyn, NY when he was in the seventh grade. There are rumors that he has played in a Rock band or two. He has been fired from more bands than most musicians have played in, but hopes Lincoln County will continue to put up with him. · His favorite country artists are Hank Williams Sr., Blackhawk and BR-549. |
